Great place to stay, but some caveats that are fixable
Reviewed on 2019-01-12 by Lisa C. , Citrus Heights, CA United StatesSince it was in the winter time, add one of those fireplace like space heaters to the Cabana. I stayed in there for a part of my stay and it gets really cold in there as the cold comes up from the floor (40 degrees with no heat). Fortunately there were space heaters in the main house that I brought over. I had to keep them running 24/7 to keep it at 65 degrees.
There was an issue with the gas grill that was fixable. My comment to RRG was that it would be great to have it fixed before the end of my stay. It was not.
Hot water was at a premium. When you washed pots by hand, the water wasn’t very hot. Same thing with showering, you had maybe 7 minutes of hot water in the main house. About 5 in the Cabana. Makes you wonder if there was an issue with the water heater in both places. Also made me wonder if the dishes that were put in the dishwasher were really clean.
RRG should inspect the accessories in the house. The tea kettle was rusted at the bottom. Some of the non-stick pans are in bad condition and should be thrown out.
The step at the front door of the main house is a hazard. I fell twice and one of my guests fell once. All 3 instances where when going out the door.
Add a set of hooks at the front door so that when it’s raining you can hang your coats there.
A lot of the lights that were on the outside didn’t turn on. They either don’t work or there were electrical issues.
With all that said, I would stay here again, without hesitation. It’s a great place.
I stayed here for a few weeks over Christmas and New Year’s. This is a great place for 6 people to come and hang out.
