We had the best time! The location was perfect, adorable house with a gorgeous view. The deck was spectacular and we enjoyed the doc everyday. Very quiet, friendly and safe neighborhood. We will be back soon!

Lauren September 2021
"TOXIC ALGAE Do not let pets near water" was posted at every beach. The listing is very forthcoming about the fact that conditions change and it is *your responsibility* to check water conditions, and yes yes, they manage a bunch of properties, but you know, it feels a lot like a willful omission not to let folks traveling from out of town with pets know that the water could kill their animal. They knew we had a pet. They were very communicative & quick to respond with all sorts of suggestions for dog-friendly beaches before we arrived. And they knew there was a 2 month long toxic algae bloom. They just chose not to mention it. Had they mentioned it, we could have left fido at home and enjoyed kayaking as planned. Or we could have planned for some other activities, but that's just not what we planned for because nobody told us. So here I am telling you: this is the website to check water quality if you are considering a trip to the area: (Website hidden by Airbnb) Luckily, we learned of the situation via warning signs posted at the public beaches *before* all jumping in from the dock at the house. We were beyond our refund window when we became aware of the situation and decided to just forfeit the $700+ booking. They kindly refunded our cleaning fee. Thinking about what could have happened to our beloved four legged family member, I sincerely hope that the management company decides to be more forthcoming about the possibility of toxic algae and offers a link for folks to check conditions.

Response from Russian River Getaways September 2021
Thank you for the feedback, Lauren. We are so sorry that a stay at Cabernet did not work out for you, especially since you had been staying at another Russian River home immediately prior this one. Of course we want our furry friends to be safe! This is why we outline the potential changeability of water conditions in Cabernet's description and encourage guests to track it for themselves and make their own informed decision, based on their unique situation. Information on this subject is easy to find online, and local conditions can change on a dime and can be different in different locations. Since Aug 11, conditions on lower Russian River have been cautionary, meaning don't drink the water, do wash after being in the water, stay away from algae mats, and most folks have been able to enjoy the river even with these common sense precautions. Now that the dams are out, even this will likely be updated soon. We hope that you will be able to enjoy the River again, perhaps earlier in the season next year. -Rachel

Victoria September 2021
Great spot by the water! I will say it’s a little far from everything but that was totally on me for not researching enough. The place was super cozy and amazing to have dinner with a nice view! Host was responsive and friendly!

Gretchen September 2021
We had a wonderful time at Cabernet cottage. The view from the deck of the river was so beautiful, especially on our first night when we got to watch a glorious sunset. Great location, loved having easy access to the kayaks. Really pleasant to go up and down the river enjoying the water wildlife.

Michael September 2021
Amazing location with everything you need to spend some time on the water. Equipment is in decent shape and questions are answered quickly.

Loretta August 2021
We stayed five nights and this was our our second trip to Cabernet Cottage. This house has a great location, a hot tub, two kayaks and a dock that all add to the fun. The neighborhood is quiet, the star views are lovely and the beds are very comfy. There is no AC which is fine with us but plenty of fans so we were quite comfortable. The only suggestion I can think of is a patio broom as the beautiful redwoods shed on the decks. While paddling on the river we saw several otters playing, lots of waterfowl, including a Great Blue Heron that caught a fish and ate it as we watched, you don’t see that ever day! We hope to return again next August. Thanks for sharing your home.

Eleanor August 2021
Loved our stay. Check-in & out was super easy. Location is fabulous. House is small & rustic but clean, affordable (for the area/time), and included what we needed. A great opportunity to experience life on the river!

Scott July 2021
It’s so convenient to just kayak straight from the backyard at your leisure. The view, especially from the comfort of the hottub is so calming and serene! We also loved seeing all the local wildlife and nature from the dock with our dog every morning too! The indoor fireplace made it extra woodsy and cozy every night too! Can’t wait to come back to take advantage of all the river has to offer even more!

Katherine July 2021
We had a beautiful time up on the river! The cottage was very comfortable and perfectly located right on the river with its own dock and 2 kayaks! We also loved the cable TV in the living room and bedroom so we didn’t miss a minute of the Tour de France. The little garden in the back was also nice for sunbathing by the water. We would most certainly come back again.

Starley July 2021
We truly enjoyed our stay over the 4th of July holiday. The house is perfectly located on the river to facilitate a quiet snd peaceful respite from the constant explosions of the city. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed kayaking daily, particularly in the morning before the river got busy. Would happily stay again.

Caitlin June 2021
Great stay! Beautiful views and amenities! Would stay again

Kamara June 2021
We loved this house! Super cozy and charming, shaded by redwoods, with beautiful view of the river. We made use of the kayaks, hot tub, dinners on the deck, and fun movie collection. We loved the proximity to town, and fun beaches. Great place, highly recommend!

Kimberlee June 2021
We thoroughly enjoyed the house. The beds were pretty comfortable. The bath was big & deep...I would definitely get a step stool for getting out of the tub/bath combo. It’s pretty far down & we had to help each other. The overall feel of the house is a little rustic & exactly what we wanted. The description is pretty accurate. It would not be a good rental for someone that has issues with stairs as there are A LOT. We brought fans with us after seeing some reviews that it gets pretty warm & I’d advise doing the same. The hot tub is really big & comfortable & hot. We had a blast sitting on the dock & feeding all the ducks & watching the people going by on kayaks. We didn’t use the kayaks as the water level is sadly very low right now since we’re in a drought! Overall a great trip & would definitely stay again.

Ana June 2021
Very sweet cottage, well appointed but maybe best without kids as one bedroom is completely detached from the cottage. Nonetheless a superb location and lots of fun.

Natalie May 2021
Loved staying here, we had a great time and really enjoyed the kayaks and the hot tub! Would definitely stay again.

Amber May 2021
This cabin is amazing! The view is spectacular. It was everything we wanted in a vacation home plus some perks we never expected. The boat dock was fun to hang out on. Using the kayaks made the day so incredible. Not to mention the hot tub, bbq and the great cabin atmosphere. We had a very special and memorable anniversary!

John April 2021
My wife and I had a great time on our Sonoma get-away, and the cabin just outside of Guerneville was the perfect jumping-off point for our quick vacation. The cabin was very comfortable and we enjoyed sitting on the patio drinking coffee and eating breakfast and watching the ducks chase each other on the riverbank below.

Mireille April 2021
Great location with all amenities yet close to everything Sonoma county has to offer . Quiet and secluded just the perfect getaway !

Carrie April 2021
What a charming little cabin! My family of three (plus yellow Lab) had a wonderful, peaceful stay at this cozy riverside cabin in the woods. We enjoyed meals and communing with the springtime birds on the deck overlooking the river, running and walking our dog on the friendly neighborhood streets, exploring Guerneville and the surrounding river valley towns, relaxing in the hot tub each evening, and sleeping soundly in our comfy beds at night. We can't wait to return in the summertime when we can take advantage of all the opportunities to play on the river.

Alison April 2021
Very quiet area. Nice Community to walk around in. Good for dog owners. I’d go back just for the orthopedic bed in the outside room!!! Lots of kitchen extras. Really nice touch with a bottle of wine, complementary dog bags and Citroen candles. Definitely an old fashion cabin feel. Could use some updated more comfy outdoor chairs. Great patio! Hot tub in private space with a view of the river.

Spencer March 2021
Great get-a-way or family outing. Family cabin kind of feeling.

Nate March 2021
Fun place

Ishan March 2021
Good location and amenities like a big hot tub, fire place and grill for a laid back weekend!

Chloe February 2021
This lovely little cottage on stilts was exactly what my boyfriend and I needed for a makeup 10 year anniversary. Gorgeous view of the river, a comfortable deck to read and stare at the trees all day, and a hot tub to soak it all away in the evening. Heaven. We brought our own basics for cooking as suggested by the hosts, oil/salt/pepper/seasoning, which definitely was needed. Otherwise the cabin was well stocked with everything else for the kitchen and grill. We also went out and bought a box of local wood which I highly recommend for the winter months. We did visit in February and would like to come back during Kayaking season!!

Sam February 2021
Awesome spot, cozy woods retreat!!! V chill

Anna February 2021
Lovely afternoon sun exposure, large hot tub and private spaces created by flanking tall trees. Beautiful river and mountain view. Neat space with nice living room, bathroom and sleeping spaces.

Jesse December 2020
Quiet getaway with nice view and hot tub on deck. This was a great place for a short getaway with my housemates. Great for a small gathering. Very clean, too. Randall November 2020
Cozy cabin on the river made for a very relaxing week. Highly recommended.

Lynda November 2020
Good place to stay. Great view throughout the day. Hidden from the crowd, view by the river makes you feel very calm. The instructions for the house is very clear, hosts responds quickly. House feels a little slanted and it dips in the middle, mostly very clean. We had a great time staying here.

Max November 2020
Wow. This place is right on the river. The hot tub is amazing. The beds are comfy. Simple and beautiful. Just what we needed. Would’ve been even better if we came in dock season because they have kayaks.

Dina November 2020
Great communication and clear instructions for everything. The amenities were great.

Garrick October 2020
Beautiful spot! Dock is really nice to just chill on -- has nice midday to afternoon sun. The house is very comfortable and the staff at Russian River Getaways were marvelous. Thanks a bunch!

James October 2020
Nice.

Tonya October 2020
This charming cabin was lovely during a hot week - we spent much of our time outside and took advantage of having a grill and hot tub. We turned all the lights off while sitting in the hot tub and I saw a shooting star over the tree line. Seriously magical. We were off season for the kayaks but we sat on the dock to watch the sunset the first night and that was delightful. I could see this place also being nice in colder weather - want to try out that stove in the living room sometime! All in all, this place has everything you want, with a few quirks. People are not joking about the claw foot tub being difficult. I wish there was a little step, but it was fine! The living room furniture wasn’t as comfy as the bed, but I just grabbed a blanket and a couple pillows and tried to cozy it up when we watched a movie. All in all, I think this place is pretty special. We’ve already talked about coming back.

Jessica October 2020
A cute, rustic cottage with river access, river view, and a hot tub. This was perfect for a visit to Guerneville.

Paul October 2020
Cab Cottage has a really great location directly on the Russian River. I enjoyed kayaking from the private dock. But the place is a bit overdue for a deep cleaning and makeover.

Caitlin October 2020
Location literally cannot be beat. Great view, great porch, great hot tub. Comfortable bed. Couch is whatever, but you're here for the locataion and vibes anyway. If you want a rustic cabin with a dope river view this is it. Will say that the house gets warm when the temp is high in Guerneville but only felt like that was a problem falling asleep at night. (It was over 100 that day, and house was around 80 degrees at 10PM

Jeremy September 2020
Cabernet Cottage was a great getaway for my family. We had a blast kayaking, swimming off the dock, and relaxing in the hot tub. The hosts left us a nice, Cabernet Cottage branded bottle of wine, as well. Nice touch. If I had to make one suggestion, the second bedroom doesn't have a ceiling fan and can get very warm on hot days. An extra fan in that room would be a nice touch. Overall a wonderful time!

Dre September 2020
Private Dock? Awesome Hot Tub? Awesome Bed Comfort? Awesome DVD Collection? Awesome Wish we stayed during a different time (things are super wild right now) but it made our “getting away” trip memorable. Can’t wait to book again next year.

Maria August 2020
Perfect place for a family of four or 2 easy going couples. The place is rustic and perfect. The river access is stellar. All of it. Loved it so much we want to return many times

Steve July 2020
If you want to get away to a cozy retreat this is a great place. Spend time on the river kayaking, sitting on the deck with a nice glass of wine and soaking in the hot tub.

Tim June 2020
The house being on the river is the best asset for this property. We discovered bug eggs in the bedding and mattresses. The hot tub was faulty and required that we turn it on constantly to maintain temperature. The hot tub guy did come out to try and fix it but it requires a lot of work to repair it as stated by Hot Tub Dad. The furnishings are not the same as in the photos and the kitchen is in dire need of replacement. The tub/shower is very dangerous to get in and out of as it has a step up that is very narrow. The management was responsive to our issue with the hot tub. Can't say that we would stay here again until the place has been updated.

Response from Russian River Getaways June 2020
We appreciate the review and feedback, Tim. We haven't seen bug eggs in the course of cleaning or inspecting, so I'm not sure what that might be, but we will certainly keep a special eye out for it. We do apologize about the hot tub...getting parts for repairs has gotten more challenging due to the pandemic, but we are glad to hear that you were able to use it, albeit with a little monkeying around. Clawfoot tub showers are bit tricky, which is why we make sure to call this out in the listing. We want guests to know what to expect, so we will also get some new living room photos in motion. All in all, Cabernet is definitely a typical modest riverfront cabin...short on luxe decor, long on awesome river access and hot tub with a view. We hope you were able to enjoy your stay despite some less pleasing aspects. -Rachel

Joe March 2020
Great little cottage. Awesome river front site. Great communication.

David March 2020
Great value. Small, but very comfortable space with great view. Liked the outside bedroom. It’s fine for two or three adults, two couples would be the absolute max. I’ll rent the space again,

Alex February 2020
Had a wonderful stay at the Cabernet Cottage. Peaceful, rustic, comfortable - no problems whatsoever. I would definitely return in the future.

Miguel February 2020
Awesome place and location.

Nicole February 2020
This place sure grew on us the longer we stayed. When we first walked in we were a little taken aback by its age and the irregular floor, but this cozy cabin went straight to our hearts as we sat in the hot tub and watched the birds swoop down on the river and as we fell asleep in deep cozy darkness on the lofty queen bed in the extra bedroom. The view, the private beach and the claw-foot tub got to our hearts!

Ron January 2020
Nice cabin on stilts right on the south bank of the River. Others have noted that it is "well-loved" and I'll go with that. The cabin is neither modern nor updated building-wise, but it is pack with conveniences. The wood-burning stove pumps out heat so efficiently that we opened the deck door from time to time. Both televisions are hooked up to cable, and the wi-fi is excellent throughout the cabin. The kitchen has all of the pots, pan, bowls and utensils that you could need, plus garbage disposal and dishwasher. There are more than enough linens, many games, laundry units, and more, plus doggy clean-up bags and a welcome bottle of wine. It's very near downtown Guerneville but feels very private and the view of the river is great, framed by lovely redwoods on both sides.

Pegah January 2020
This is a nice and cozy house for 4 people - the satellite room is close to the house but difficult to use during the middle of the night as all the doors lock from the outside so you can be stuck. The location is amazing and the hosts were really nice.

Response from Russian River Getaways January 2020
We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at Cabernet, Pegah. We appreciate the review and feedback. For future reference, the locks on both the door to the satellite room and the rear exterior door of the main house have twist locks door handles. The lock on the handle has to be twisted to the open position to be unlocked and twisted to the closed position to be locked. It sounds as though they were just not in the unlocked position. Also, next time, please know that you can call us anytime, and we will help you out. -Rachel

Crystal January 2020
This was a great lil get a way cabin the only thing we weren’t expecting was that the second room is detached and located completely separate of the house . But not a huge deal everything worked and the kitchen was stocked with all the necessary cooking tools

Response from Russian River Getaways January 2020
We do appreciate the review and feedback, Crystal. The second bedroom is detached from the main house by a few feet (only bathroom is in the main house), which we do our best to make sure folks know by mentioning a number of times in the listing. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay despite this. -Rachel

Kevin December 2019
Had a wonderful time. :) Really cozy cabin with a lovely view of the river.

Denis December 2019
Great place to get away. Very quiet and unique area. Views of the river from the living room or back porch are beautiful. Looking forward to coming back next summer.

Adrian November 2019
The place is exactly as advertised. Typical cozy cabin feel rite on the river. Clean hot tub, clean beds. And just outside of town for those who want to enjoy a quiet environment but want to easily be able to go get dinner or supplies.

Ben November 2019
Charming cabin in a spectacular setting. Price is very reasonable for what you get. Location is amazing. So glad we chose this cabin as it was really perfect. All around just a terrific place to stay in wine country. We will definitely stay there again. My only suggestions are 1) be careful getting in and out of the shower/tub as it is a bit precarious having to step up a step and then in over a high claw foot tub, so getting out felt like an adventure and 2) (Hidden by Airbnb) maps and Waze has trouble finding the place. Well worth it though for just a great great cabin.

Response from Russian River Getaways November 2019
Ahhh...the joys and travails of a clawfoot tub. Unfortunately, having to climb up and over the side is part of the charm. It is challenging for some folks, though, which is why we note it in the listing, so there will be no surprises. In any case, we are so glad you had a great time and hope you'll be back, clawfoot tub notwithstanding. -Rachel

Jocelyn November 2019
A charming but “well loved” property. Lovely deck with a beautiful river view. Lots of stairs. Close to town but somewhat remote and shady.

Bonny October 2019
We had a great time at the cabin.

Colton October 2019
This place was AMAZING! So much fun to play in the river. And great amenities- jacuzzi, grill, huge porch, etc, etc, etc.

Cristine September 2019
This rental is ‘rustic’ so expectations should be kept conservative. The kitchen is fine as well as the family/dining space. The deck is large and does look over the river and there is a lovely dock for your water enjoyment.

Chelsea September 2019
The location of the house and the amenities are great! We loved barbecuing on the huge deck overlooking the water. It’s also a great dog friendly house with a good sized backyard! The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because of the cleanliness. The space seemed a bit dusty and in need of a deep clean. For the price of cleaning fees, this place should feel cleaner. The bed in the master is also pretty terrible. It’s really bouncy so anytime my husband moved I’d wake up and vice verse.

Francina September 2019
My boyfriend, dog and I spent the weekend at this lovely home. The home is quite spacious and clean. You are in the woods so there are cobwebs out on patio and a few inside. The patio had a nice view of the river that my dog was antsy to get to. The stairs that lead to the river are steep so watch your step. Our first night we arrived around 630 so we drove around and had a quick bit at Stumptown Brewery(10min tops to get there) which you can see across the river. We spent the rest of the night playing some board games we found in wash room. The bathroom has a nice claw tub. There is a step to the tub and the tub is tall too so watch your step. Not recommended for elderly or people with bad legs. The beds comfortable enough. The living room and bedroom did have a fan(no ac). Guerneville a 25min walk if that. I walked with my dog and had lunch in town and then a bit of wine tasting. The rest of time we hung out at river. We had a wonderful time. Hope to go again next year.

Erin September 2019
Great location. Wonderful hot tub! Kayaking on Russian River was a magical.

Elizabeth August 2019
We had a really lovely few days here on the Russian River. It is ideally situated and the kayaks were so fun to use. I hadn't really noticed that the second bedroom was not attached but it was clearly described (I had just skimmed over) which would have been a problem had my girls been even a year younger. As it was, they loved it and it worked out! I loved sitting on the back porch and the kitchen was well stocked. A really beautiful area!

Michael July 2019
Great spot! Cheers

Neal July 2019
The Cabernet Cottage is a charming getaway on the Russian River with the reality of the cabin exactly mirroring the pictures on the AirBnB site. The cottage was very clean and well organized and a wonderful place to relax for a few days. I don't believe that the website has a picture of the river from the deck and the view is beautiful. On our last full day on the River, we rented canoes and took a long trip from upstream viewing cabins along the way. It was somewhat rare to find cabins with docks that are located right at water's edge. We realized what a rare opportunity staying at Cabernet Cottage was given its access to the River. The only caveat I would make is that the bedrooms are quite small with the unattached bedroom not providing any storage space for items. We found this manageable but want visitors to be aware of that. All in all, we provide our highest recommendation.

Nate
July 2019 Fantastic view and access to the river, including kayaks. We enjoyed our stay!

Mary July 2019
Being on the river was a real plus to staying in this cabin. Plus they had two kayaks for our use. The big negative for us was the claw foot tub. It's very hard to get into and slippery. Not safe for older people.

Maria June 2019
A private dock on the river, a hot tub, a deck overlooking the mountains, privacy, quiet, nature... what more could you ask for? We had a wonderful stay and hope to be back soon. A dream of a location and cottage

Katherine June 2019
We had a great stay at Cabernet Cabin over midsummer! Made full use of the hot tub, wood burning stove, deck, water crafts (one single kayak and one canoe), and seasonal jetty. It’s also just a short bike ride into town and to several wineries. River Getaway promptly and helpfully responded to last minute questions. Highly recommend this Airbnb on the Russian river!

Kyle June 2019
Great Location, Great Dock Area (although the current made swimming a little challenging. Ate dinner both nights on the great deck overlooking the river!

Ashley June 2019
Great location, perfect for a family getaway. The rustic cabin reminded us of cabin camping as kids, and was perfect for a quiet getaway with our young kids. The deck is great for meals and relaxing. Only downside is that the river is not really accessible from cabin in early June (you can walk down to river, but no beach/area for water play). Luckily, great beaches (and town) are within 5 minutes drive. Hosts were very responsive and helpful.

Cassandra May 2019
A nice little rustic place with a great view of the river from deck and hot tub. Beware that you must go outside the house onto the deck and back in order to access the bathroom from satellite bedroom

Will May 2019
We had a wonderful stay at this place on the river! The view and atmosphere on the back deck is awesome, we hung out there pretty much the whole time. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a getaway

Julia April 2019
Beautiful cabin with a spectacular view of the river. Really enjoyed the balcony view, wood burning stove and giant bathtub. Neighbors are doing construction so weekends are probably much quieter than weekdays. (There was a flood recently so probably repairing damage?). Owners are very quick to respond. All in all I recommend this cute place for the view, the location and the cabin itself is a gem.

Noelle April 2019
Great customer service, friendly hosts, great location - the private neighborhood beach was a huge plus!

Russ January 2019
Great weekend get away!

Sarah January 2019
Perfect, quiet location backing onto the river, with a lovely view. Four of us shared the cottage without feeling too cramped. Kitchen was super well-stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. We loved the wood-burning stove and the hot tub - perfect for cold December evenings!

Martha December 2018
Our family had a great time and the location of this rental was perfect for us. we were able to visit a number of different wineries as well as spend time in Armstrong Park and the Sonoma Coast Park. If you visit there in the winter time, the house can get a little cool in the nighttime. They were very fast to respond to our first call and brought a few extra space heaters and some firewood for the wood stove.

Lucia December 2018
beautiful location with the hot tub, the outdoor bedroom especially is pretty cold in the winter

Chrissy November 2018
This was a great place to stay. Sweet cabin feel on the river. We went in November and it was chilly. Be sure to bring your own firewood for the fireplace.

Amy November 2018
Great view, well stocked kitchen, good family space. Kind of far to walk to town.

Paige October 2018
Such a beautiful spot! And very close to downtown Guerneville. Wonderful cabin - perfect cozy spot with a sunny beach. Definitely a great little getaway spot with lovely outdoor space.

Nathan October 2018
Beautiful and peaceful cottage overlooking Russian River and close to Main Street. A lot of instructions, but highly recommend!

Jean October 2018
Had a fantastic stay! Brought my girlfriend up for her birthday just to get out of the City for a few days and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer experience..! Great BBQ, the Hot Tub was spacious and clean, we really enjoyed making a fire and playing board games like Battleship while we listened to the sound of the Rain..! Would love to come back here again next time..!

Hilaire August 2018
The private dock and kayaks, hot tub, relaxing deck, and new grill made this place the perfect retreat. It's dog friendly, too! :)

Nakiya August 2018
Was a lovely view. Sipping on coffee watching the mist roll over the Russian River. A reflective quiet and rustic place to be. Please follow all directions about no cell service. Use Monte Rio Cab and ask for Dustin! Lovely cabin with a movie vibe. Thanks for the memories!

Monique July 2018
What a wonderful experience. I enjoyed every moment as this house was right on the river with a private beach. So private and quiet. The house was perfect and had everything I could ask for. I really enjoyed sleeping in the satellite bedroom. Hot tub was clean and hot. The backyard and dock was perfect -so peaceful and serene. I will definitely be back and would t want any other spot. Thank you for a great experience. Truly was a wonderful trip.

Marisa July 2018
Rustic cabin vibes with nice and charming updates!

Noriko July 2018
Nice place with a great location on the river with its own dock and access to the river. We really enjoyed our stay.

Andrea June 2018
A great home with a wonderful private dock with kayaks

Barry June 2018
Place was perfect. Cozy, private and a nice swimming hole right by the dock. Can cross the river and be at a great cafe without getting in your car.

Amanda June 2018
My family and I wanted an outdoorsy vacation in Guerneville and this fit our needs well. The house doesn't have the greatest curb appeal upon arrival, but it is cozy and comfortable and met our family's needs so much better than a hotel. We usually had two meals a day at the cottage which was easier with kids and helped keep vacation costs lower. We LOVED having our own dock access and kayaks. I also appreciated that there were life jackets available--one less thing to pack. The houses in this area are rustic. Don't expect fancy. Expect it to be like a cozy visit to your grandma's river cottage and you won't be disappointed. We spent our time touring Armstrong Redwoods, enjoying the kayaks, relaxing at Monte Rio Beach with paddleboard rentals and the floats we borrowed from the cottage, and hot tubbing at night. (Johnson's Beach is closer, but major festivals were going on the weekend we were there and it was too crowded for our tastes.) The kids were sad to leave which is a good sign we all had fun. My husband and I appreciated the bottle of wine that was provided. On a critical note, the couch has seen better days and the owners should consider an upgrade soon as the faux leather is peeling away in spots. A nice sleeper sofa could easily accommodate an extra guest, but you definitely won't want to sleep on the current couch. We also noted that the slope of the floor in the main living area is very unlevel. The first day it kind of bothered us, but we mostly forgot about it after settling in and that's just part of its quirky charm. Our children are almost six and nine and they slept in the "satellite" room just off the main house. Families with children much younger, will likely not like this set up. Our kids wanted Dad to stay with them until they fell asleep the first night, but after that, they were fine and enjoyed their separate space. The second bedroom is very close to the main house just off the deck, but you do have to go outside to access that room. There's a separate key for it. Thank you for a wonderful trip!

Response from Russian River Getaways June 2018
Thanks so much for the review and feedback, Amanda. The owner actually just ordered a new couch, so it will be in place for your next stay:-) We're glad your family enjoyed Cabernet! -Rachel

Stephanie May 2018
We had a wonderful long weekend at the Cabernet Cottage! Everything was just as we expected. We appreciated having appliances like a coffee maker and dishwasher. The beds were comfortable and the fans helped keep the place cool on the 90+ degree days. But our favorite part was the beautiful views from the deck and being able to watch the river from the outdoor table and hot tub. Looking forward to coming back again!

Chris May 2018
Great location and cozy cabin, deck has a fantastic view.

Nicole May 2018
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. Great open floor plan with kitchen and living room and fire place. Everything was very clean with a beautiful river view and balcony!! Convenient beach access pathway from cabin. Quick, easy drive to town. Smooth check-in upon arrival, and we appreciate when dogs are welcome. Overall, very enjoyable stay!

Patrick May 2018
Really nice location right on the river. Easy drive to town and cab service is available. Sitting in the hot tub overlooking the river is incredibly peaceful.

Evelyn April 2018
Great place! We had a wonderful time just sitting on the patio and enjoying the view of the river. About a five minute drive into downtown Guerneville.

Michael April 2018
Great place for us. Right on the river, the kids fished each morning and evening. Convenient location, close to Guernville. The hot tub had lots of jets and was a great amenity.

Joseph February 2018
House is well located, really close to downtown Guerneville, and right on the river. In the Summertime, I'm sure this place would be absolutely amazing! The hot tub is perfect- it's a great size, it's hot, and the view of the river is amazing. Our issues with the place had almost all to do with the fact that we were there in winter at a very cold time, and the house heating system just couldn't warm the house enough to make it the cozy getaway we were hoping for. Even with a full fire blazing the house was pretty cold. The couch and the towels have probably seen better days, and while this isn't a make or break type of thing I just mention it because it's not quite what one may expect. We also had an issue on check-out day- the door entry code got changed on us sometime around 10:30, even though check-out time was supposed to be at 11am. I got locked out of the house, but luckily my wife was still inside, or else we would've been out in the cold trying to figure out how to grab our bags. All in all, I think this place would be great in the Summertime with a group of friends, but it wasn't the romantic, cozy getaway we were looking for this Winter.

Response from Russian River Getaways February 2018
Thanks for the review and feedback, Joseph. You were here for the unusual cold that had us all struggling to keep warm. For future reference, give us a call when you have issues, and we are always happy to help. In this case, we might have brought enough space heaters to keep you warm. I think it's also important to note that we don't/can't change any door code's parameters during a guest's stay; they are pre-programmed to stop at 11am. We do apologize that your code deactivated early and are glad it did not create an issue for you. -Rachel

Mike February 2018
Great spot!! Highly recommended!

Marc February 2018
Overall, this place was great! The hot tub was one of our favorite amenities; it was the perfect temperature for chilly nights, and has a beautiful view of the river. The kitchen is well stocked with a variety of good quality cookware, which made staying in a cooking dinner and breakfast very easy. The master bed was also very comfortable, and the living room was spacious and warmed easily with the wood stove. We had a great Valentine's Day weekend here and would definitely stay again.

Matthew January 2018
The space was great for two people and provided ample tools for cooking and cleaning during the stay. The back patio area was great with a peaceful view of the river, and the location is very convenient to get into town or go out to the coast for a day trip.

Jason January 2018
Very nice cottage with hot tub, wood stove & easy river access.

Natalie January 2018
Amazing view and decks! I bet during summer months it is even more amazing! The house was close to great wineries (gary farrell!!)

Vhe August 2017
Great getaway spot. We came here for a ladies'/moms' weekend sans kids, and we were really able to unwind and relax. Beautiful deck! Note the detached room is a little on the small side, with not a lot of space for luggage or changing, and requires going outside prior to accessing the bathroom. Thanks for special time with friends!

Basak July 2017
This is a lovely cabin, with an amazing magical view. You can tell from the way it the furniture was selected the owners really cared, and intended to provide a welcome setting- The cabarnet cottage guests also receive a cabarnet wine as a welcoming gesture... You should however bring your own linens, and towels as we found out the crew had not changed the sheets nor have washed the towels after the previous guests checked out. So to avoid the Ick factor bring your items with you and you should be fine. The house is on stills, so when the washer and dryer are working it shakes as if it is an earthquake. Great location, and access to the river. Avoid the weekends since there is a beer garden type of thing across the river which holds beach parties -that may get roudy for those who are looking for a more quiet type of getaway. We had a great vacation at cabarnet cottage.

Lesli June 2017
The house was perfect. It fit all our wants and needs.

Cathleen June 2017
Loved this place so much! The cabin is well stocked with everything you will need and the location is perfect. The hot tub was awesome and the river front dock was PERFECT! I wish that there was a portable AC unit as it was SUPER hot but besides the heat i would say that this cabin is amazing! We will be coming back for sure!

Jeremy June 2017
A nice relaxing place to stay next to the river. A great place to stay to be on the water and decompress!

Andrew June 2017
This place is fantastic. It's situated right on the river, the hot tub is terrific, and the house itself is very nice and cozy. The location is great in terms of proximity to the shops in Guerneville, wineries, and Santa Rosa. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Tiffany April 2017
Cute cottage, loved the split front door and the French doors and window in the kitchen to the patio. Hot tub is nice, very clean and current. Location is perfect for relaxing, overlooking the river. You can hear it softly in the background if you sleep in the additional BD. Close to town for food, bars, shopping etc. Furniture could be a little updated, but it's not bad. Rental process was seamless, easy and so was check-in. Will return if in area again for sure!!

Raelyn April 2017
Awesome location on the river!

Kate April 2017
We had a lovely stay at Cabernet Cottage. It was quiet, private, and right on the river. We enjoyed the layout of the space, the games and movies they provided, and use of the hot tub. The wood stove and electric mattress pads were lovely on a cold, rainy night. We would definitely come back to Cabernet Cottage in the future.

Samantha March 2017
Stellar location. Clean home. Outside areas not as usable as we had hoped

William December 2016
Absolutely beautiful view. Great rustic cabin feel. Do note that the "satellite" bedroom is just that, it is separate from the main house. In order to use the restroom you have to go outside and walk a few feet to into the main house. It wasn't a big deal, but something we missed on the initial booking description.

Jabu November 2016
Lovely little cottage with a gorgeous view of the river and hill. Quiet neighborhood that is a mix of residential, small farms/vineyards and vacation homes. Super close to downtown Guerneville and not far from Duncans Mills and Jenner. Great WIFI, parking and easy access to cabin!

Joey October 2016
We loved staying here - the view is absolutely fantastic and sitting out on the deck is the most relaxed we've felt in a long time. Everything in the cabin felt modern and clean.

Damon June 2016
So great, so great, so great!!! Spent a long weekend there with my dog -- and had the best experience. Cottage was BETTER than the photos! And the location was so amazing. Will be renting again later this summer!

Kellie April 2016
Wow. Cabernet Cottage could not have been easier or more relaxing. Everything worked, view was amazing, cabin was PERFECT in every way. The "satellite" bedroom was especially great for my teenage daughter, with a view of the river and just enough separation to make it seem like a much bigger place. Parking was super easy. I must have taken 500 photos during our stay and the majority of them were from the deck with the sun setting. Magical! I loved that the washer and dryer were right off the bathroom as well. We would stay there again in a heartbeat! The owners thought of everything. We felt totally at home the entire time. It is close to everything, we zip lined and did Osmosis and Bodega Bay on different days throughout the week. My teenage daughter agreed that it was one of the best vacations we have ever taken and a LOT of it had to do with Cabernet Cottage being our home base. It was still beautiful even though the weather was't great most of the time (we went in April). We just had a fire and watched a movie and listened to the rain on the roof while looking at the river, or got in the hot tub. Well done!

Caroline December 2015
One of the best experiences on the river! Great house. Cozy and close to town. Thanks so much for a great stay.

Jonnel March 2020
Cabernet Cottage made for a delightful stay in Guerneville. The house was cozy and charming, and River Getaways provided a comprehensive binder of information about the house and the surrounding area that helped us settle right in as if we knew the place. We were especially impressed by the kitchen amenities which included a blender, food processor, and lots of pots and pans. We were able to cook anything we wanted... key word being wanted what with the delicious food options only five minutes away in town. Some highlights of our stay were making fires in the wood stove, enjoying the hot tub on the deck during sunset, and fun hikes nearby at Armstrong Redwood Reserve. Definitely worth a visit regardless of time of year- we went in early March, and would love to come back in the summer.

Tim June 2018
beautiful place, amazing log for walking into the river, backyard walkway could be kept up a bit (but i understand this is early in the season)

Catherine August 2017
We loved this cabin! The view was to die for and the town is wonderful. The California is my heart...

"Rustic charm and great location!"

5 of 5

What a location and view! If you are looking for a spot right on the river, with great beach access - here it is. Our family loved this cabin, and enjoyed opening the french doors, taking in the natural beauty, lounging on the deck, and playing in the water close by. Wonderful little spot!

"Wonderful Vacation at Russian River (Cabernet Cottage)"

5 of 5

My wife, grandson and I had a great vacation staying at the Cabernet Cottage right on the Russian River. The location was ideal with a dock right on the river. The cabin itself, had 2 bedrooms and 1 bath but felt bigger. The kitchen had everything you need with a gas oven and full size refrigerator. The furnishings fit with a cabin and were very comfortable. There are ceiling fans in the great room and main bedroom. There is a satellite bedroom off the deck that contains a good sized bed and a table fan. There is a very expansive deck off the great room with chairs and a table and an easy to use barbeque. There is a very nice size hot tub on the lower level (we didn't use it) and a partial stairway leading down to the dock. There are two kayaks at the dock which we used a lot. Even though there are residences on both sides of the cabin, we found it to be very quiet especially at night. It's a little tricky getting to the cabin the first time but you get used to it. There is plenty of parking in front of the cabin. You can be as active if you want to be. In addition to kayaking, we played golf ( a few miles away), went zip lining (about a 15 minute drive), hiked at Bodega Bay (about a 20 minute drive, hiked at Armstrong Woods (about 10 minutes away) and did a lot of swimming. Then, there is the laid back town of Guerneville which is great to walk around in, visit the art galleries or just hang out.We so enjoyed eating on the deck of the cabin that we only went out to dinner once. All the other meals we ate at the cabin. There is a 24 hour Safeway in Guerneville so you can get pretty much anything there. My wife and I agreed that in terms beauty, outside living, activities, peacefulness and relaxation this is the best place we have stayed.By the way we rented through Russian River Getaways who were excellent to deal with. We had 1 issue during our stay that they took care of immediately. My only caveat is that cabin best suits a part of 4-5 maximum.

"The pictures do not do it justice"

We stayed for three nights. Absolutely no complaints. We were very comfortable and wanted for nothing. We would stay there again and recommend to friends and family.

"Excellent Choice"

5 of 5

Our family normally heads for the mountains each summer for our annual camping trip, This year, with the drought, that wasn't a choice so I searched for an alternative: a cabin. The Russian River area looked ideal as it was central to both wine tasting and visits to the beach. The Cabernet Cottage appealed to me so I rented it.This was an ideal vacation home. It had beautiful views, a ton of amenities and--best of all--allowed us to bring our dog, I was a bit worried as the pictures show the cabin to be rather plush, but upon arrival I was delighted. It's a rustic cabin with lots of wood, a wood burning stove and an expansive deck.We were there during dock season and it was excellent. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the provided kayaks. The dog and I enjoyed the raft I brought. You can row to isolated beaches or, as I did, row the dog to the Stumptown Brewery (just across the river) for a brew. (They provide accommodations for your dog.)The Cabernet Cabin is a short drive from Guerneville and a 24 hour Safeway. You're also a short drive from the coast, You're right next to a Redwood Forest Preserve. On one day, my wife an kids persuaded me to tour a forest on zip lines. What made this doubly nice was there's a dog sitter, Elizabeth who came to the cabin to watch our dog. She was excellent and Boo--the dog--was sad to see us come home. The property management firm is great! The few minor problems we had were corrected immediately.Overall, I would be hard pressed to find anything lacking. A fenced yard for the dog would have been nice--and some cabins have them--but taking the dog for an occasional walk was not a hardship. I strongly recommend the Cabernet Cottage for anyone seeking a cozy getaway!

"These reviews are old- tons of upgrades done!"

5 of 5

We had the distinct pleasure of staying at Cabernet Cottage. I wanted to find some photos of the place to share with friends when I happened on some of these reviews and was compelled to write.First of all, many of these reviews are old. The owner put in some new stairs to the backyard, landscaping, and an awesome dock so accessing the river is super easy. There were various rafts and inflatable toys in the garage that we easily launched from the dock and floated the afternoons away. What fun! It was a leisurely float across the river to the casual Stumptown Brewery where we indulged in yummy burgers and libations before floating back "home". The home was well-appointed with newer and comfortable furnishings that you'd expect at a vacation cabin. The linens were fresh and soft and the clawfoot tub in the bathroom is nice touch. The place was also very clean. We didn't notice any spider webs or other fun stuff that you should totally expect with a cabin in the woods. We wouldn't have minded if we had discovered this type of thing because hey, it IS a cabin in the WOODS. If you're looking for a laid back vacation where you can put your bare feet up, toast with friends, have easy access to the best vineyards, get out on the river, and enjoy a slice of the simple yet sophisticated lifestyle that the area has to offer then this is your place! And BONUS- the place is a screaming deal. We're already looking at our schedule to see when we can return. What a gem!

"Clean, quiet cabin on the river"

5 of 5

The house was even better than it looked in the pictures. The location on the river was gorgeous, and it's just a few steps away from a great little beach area. The wood paneling and cozy wood-burning stove make it feel like a cabin retreat. The kitchen was well stocked and organized. The place was very clean, with nice bed linens and towels. Huge hot tub! And only a few minutes' drive to town. I don't know how it is during the more crowded summer season, but we found the area very quiet and peaceful. Families with smaller children might not like the bedroom arrangement (the second BR has a separate outside entrance, so the occupant must be comfortable sleeping out of earshot and able to use housekeys to get to the bathroom.) It worked fine for us and our 9-year-old, though, and would be a great set-up for two couples because of the added privacy. The rental company was very organized and made it easy to check in / out without hassles. A perfect vacation...Thanks!!

Manager Response:

Thanks for the review and the compliments! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at Cabernet and hope you'll be back soon. -Rachel, Russian River Getaways

"Charming with a few quirks"

5 of 5

I'm surprised with all the negative reviews here for Cabernet Cottage. We stayed in another place that just wasn't our style, so the company graciously allowed us to view a couple of other places and move into the Cabernet Cottage for the remainder of our stay. We loved it so much, we stayed an extra day.The house is small and quaint with good light and plenty of seating. It has a big living room area and a sweet little kitchen adjoining so cooks don't have to remove themselves from the action while doing their thing. The hot tub was great. The deck was beautiful...getting mid-day sun and a wonderful view of the river, ducks and all, but out of view of other places across the river. It was very private. The beds were comfortable and the decor simple and charming. My only words of warning are this: this place is not as well-stocked as others we've stayed in, which is fine as long as you are prepared. There are no flashlights, batteries for remotes, matches/lighters (!), large bowls (for salad, for instance), deck light for grilling at night, DVDs or a DVD player. Towels were a bit minimal and the owners do not provide any firewood. The house takes a LONG time to heat with the heater alone (if it ever does), so bringing tons of wood is critical if you visit in the cooler months. This didn't bother us, but the grounds were a bit unkempt in front. We felt the place would be so much cuter, curb-appeal-wise, if it were kept up a bit better. And it is true that getting to the water is a little precarious, though worth the effort. The owners must have updated the furniture since some of the negative reviews because they were all new and comfortable. I never would have chosen this place based on the reviews, but we found it to be a gem of a find and will definitely be back in the future, just perhaps a bit more prepared.

"our stay at Cabernet Cottage"

5 of 5

Beautiful house. The weather was cold, but the electric blankets had been turned on so even the bed in the "satellite room" was warm, although the rooms themselves were understandably pretty cold the first night we got there. The deck is gorgeous - I can imagine living out there most of the time when it's not so cold. Everything is in good repair, we wanted for nothing.. Short walk to the beach. Private setting - on Thanksgiving we could hear (not see) the happy gathering next door only when we were outside. The guest using the satellite room locked himself out so be careful about that! The owners even left us a very nice bottle of white wine. (what? no cabernet?:) About a mile to town, very walkable. I would definitely rent again.

"Lovely little cottage."

5 of 5

Very comfortable and cozy. Great neighborhood and access to the water. Love the new dock and thanks to RR getaways for leaving the dock for us so late in the season. Does need lighting out on the deck for outside dining.Definately will book ths again!

Manager Response:

Thanks for the nice review, and we are so glad you enjoyed the new dock at Cabernet. It is our pleasure to help in any way we can. We'll give your outdoor lighting suggestion to the owner. -Rachel

"Filthy"

2 of 5

I just stayed here with friends and we were very disappointed upon arriving and throughout our stay with how filthy and funky the Cabernet Cottage is. We were expecting rustic and could easily accept the old, funky furniture and worn wood, but not the layers of dust, spider webs and scunge. The bedroom ceiling was covered in dusty spider webs and the floors had not been cleaned in a very long time. Bundles of hair and dust covered the floor around the bed and it was just overall, gritty. We moved the bed away from the wall as there were webs attached to it and found years worth of dust and hair from previous guests and a breast milk pad. The living room wasn't much different. Let's put it this way; it's the kind of place you don't want to go barefoot in. The kitchen was scungy with grease still on the stove and dishes that were not cleaned properly...and oddly enough, the "Cabernet" Cottage was void of wine glasses, outside of a couple cloudy, unmatched ones hanging in the window area. Then we went to use the barbecue and it still had grease and food in it from whoever used it last. And forget using it at night unless you have a flashlight because there's no good outside light...we took a lamp outside so we could cook our lobsters. Then the water heater didn't work right, making showers a pain with the water fluctuating from scalding hot to cold. Overall, the place was filthy and funky, with the good part being the deck overlooking the river and the kayaks for the river.

Manager Response:

This is such an odd review. The furniture is almost all new in the last few years. We are sorry about the cleaning; that cleaner has been dismissed for this and other complaints. However, there are not years of dust in any of our homes. Spiderwebs are a hazard of this forested area. We clean them up and more come, sometimes within minutes. We'll speak to owner about the outside lighting, after we verify that the lighting is inadequate. -Rachel

"Beautiful view!"

4 of 5

Had a great time at the Cabernet Cottage! Love the 2 decks...one for hanging out and grilling...the other for a private hot tub! The Russian River is perfect for kayaking and just leisurely floating around. We didn't want to leave.

Manager Response:

We're so glad you liked Cabernet so well and hope you'll come back soon. Thanks for the great review! -Rachel

"Average Rental - bring your own deck and kitchen!!!"

3 of 5

Pluses - can't beat the location as it is right next to prime beach access. It's alway hard finding a good beach on Russian River with easy access in and out of the water. That said, getting down the path to the beach as others noted it not easy. We've stayed in other rentals nearby this one on the same street an would probably opt for those in the future an just use the public beach accessThe price of the rental is good. Hot tub was fantastic. Unlike many of the rentals up at Russian river there aren't tons and tons of stairs here. I like the exercise but know lots of stairs can be an issue for some. The satellite guest room was cute and quaint Minuses - bring your own deck and kitchen!!! Huge issue with the deck furniture. You couldn't even sit on it as it was so run down and wobbly. Frankly it was a liability issue. Someone is going to get hurt. I'm surprised nothing has been done about it especially since all the deck furniture is bad. It basically renders the best selling point of the place - the deck useless unless you bring your own folding chairs. Inside the decor is nicer and quaint. Tons if deferred maintenance. It's rustic. Kitchen has spartan appointments and utensils - who provides only two very small serving bowls? Shades were cheap and didn't workOtherwise everything "worked" adequately.

"A Restful Retreat"

4 of 5

Looking for a holiday away to decompress? This cottage is just perfect for that very experience I found. I needed to get away for a few days, just me and my dog and this comfortable cottage was the perfect spot. The home is overlooking the Russian River, with two decks where you can sit back and enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the scenery, drinking in the peace and calm surrounding you. The afternoon did heat up a bit inside but opening up the French doors leading to the first deck, the kitchen window, bedroom window and upper half of the front door brought in a cross draft that quickly cooled the cottage down with the assistance of the fans. I found pest spray almost eliminated any flying creatures that wanted to enjoy the inside tranquility of the home with you at night. As I brought my 4 legged family member with me, this home was very friendly and was the very getaway we both needed.

Manager Response:

It's always nice to be able to take your pet on vacation with you and not worry about anything but having a nice and relaxing time. We pride ourselves in being pet friendly and, with most of us here having dogs, we understand the importance of having your favorite friend with you. We hope to see you again soon.

"pros and cons"

3 of 5

Pros: Cabin is on river, near to town, had kayaks.Cons: Inside is dark, funky. Smelled musty. Second bedroom you must go outside to get to bathroom in middle of night.

Manager Response:

Cabernet Cottage is a cabin in the woods after all. It's a great little hideaway and, like you said, on the river and close to town. The woodwork inside the cottage is stunning but you have to like that sort of rustic feel and look. We hope you enjoyed your overall stay and will come back again!

"Nice cottage"

4 of 5

We stayed for a week to participate in the Vineman Triathlon and had a great stay. The cottage is a little worn looking on the outside but once in everything was very nice. Beds very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. Nice view of the river with easy access. Also close to town. The only thing that was a bit of a challenge was the shower water was difficult to get the right temperature due to the hot and cold handles hard to turn. There is a lot of stairs up to the house and also to the jacuzzi. Nice area for biking and running and you can swim in the river but it is shallow. Guerneville is kinda funky but we enjoyed our stay.

"Nice River View Cabin"

3 of 5

Loved the location, but was not easy getting getting to beach. Very precarious for older adults &children.; Weather good & very nice cabin, outdoor furniture needs repair & not very comfortable. Would stay again if they would make the stairs/beach access better for all family members.

Manager Response:

Perhaps very small children would have a problem (although mine would have been fine), but it's a typical local path down and across river frontage. Just a note on the beach: It's privately owned except at near waterline, so please stay down off the sand, near the water's edge. We'll check out the furniture and repair whatever needs repair. -Rachel, general manager

"Ideal getaway!!!"

5 of 5

This is a wonderful cozy cottage with an amazing view of the river. My husband and I spent a peaceful and restful vacation at this cottage. The bed in the main bedroom is very comfortable and clean. The size of this place is perfect for a couple. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped. The cottage is right on the water, few steps to the beach. The first night the TV wasn't working and the staff was quick to respond coming to the cottage in the evening to fix the problem. We really enjoyed having our meals on the deck with the tranquility of the river.

Manager Response:

Thanks for the photos! Cabernet is a great little cottage, and I'm so glad you enjoyed its many charms. Just a note on the beach for future visits: Guests should stay down by the water line, as the sand up to the houses is private property, and be respectful of the local denizens' peace and quiet. -Rachel, Russian River Getaways

"Fantastic!"

5 of 5

We loved our stay and staying in Cabernet Cottage... Hot tub watching river flow, barbecueing steaks on the grill, kayaking on the river (and falling in and freezing) then returning to build a nice warm fire... Great location close to town but removed and quiet. We couldn't figure out how to work the TV but that was great because we played Uno and Monopoly and had a good ole family time...

Manager Response:

Excellent that you enjoyed this home so much. Next time give us a call about the TV if you can't figure it out from the house instructions (in the binder in each house). Also, just so you know, the river is not considered safe until May. -General Manager

"Stunning view of river & easy access to private beach"

4 of 5

Quaint cabin. Comfortable. Really enjoyed having our dogs with us.

Manager Response:

We're so glad you liked Cabernet. For future reference, there's no "private beach" at this home. There's a neighborhood access path next to the house, which leads to a beach fronted by private homes. Guests may use this beach up to the "high water mark," in this case, where the sand starts (the sand is private property); residents just ask that our guests clean up after themselves and keep the beach peaceful place. -General Manager

"Great View of the River"

4 of 5

Though the weather did not totally cooperate for our stay, we all felt that this cottage had a quirky charm in addition to its beautiful view of the river. The fact that the secondary bedroom was fairly small and without a closet in addition to only having exterior entrances into the main living space (it rained a bit and this made midnight runs to the potty sort of dampening) was odd but the room was warm and cozy at night, which is all that really matters. The kitchen was quite well stocked and clean & the hot tub was divinely private and we used it several times. There was an issue with the water heater pilot light that was easily remedied; however, the shower water temp was difficult to regulate so we kept them short - perhaps the water heater itself being an on-demand type had difficulty servicing the needs of four people. All in all, this is the fourth cabin we have rented thru Russian River Getaways and we liked it well enough to come back again. Thanks for providing such wonderful places to stay in one of our most favorite regions!

Manager Response:

You are so welcome! We're so glad you enjoyed this home, and it does have a great view. The satellite bedroom has hooks and under-bed drawers for clothing. The issue with the hot water was resolved back in June. -General Manager
