Springhill was the perfect getaway- we arrived right before some rain arrived which made the hot tub and cozy atmosphere even more inviting. We even decided to stay an extra night! I Communication with the Russian Rivers Getaways team was very prompt. Will definitely return to share with some friends!

This house is amazing. It feels so rustic, yet it has all the modern conveniences and is so comfortable. We cooked multiple meals and the kitchen is far and away the best stocked for making meals than any Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. Due to covid you’ll have to provide all of your own food (there is a grocery about 10-15 minutes away) but as far as cookware and utensils they have everything you’ll need. The deck and hot tub is downright majestic. Such a cool experience. Do take note of the suggestion to arrive during daylight, at least the first time. The road is narrow (one lane) at points and while it’s nothing too serious, it’s probably best to do it in daylight your first time. If it’s available and you can stay here, don’t hesitate and book it. You will not regret it.

Katie October 2021
Amazing place to stay! Tucked away in the woods but in the middle of wine country

Kristen September 2021
We loved our stay and it is truly magical! Like other reviewers mentioned, it is UP in the woods. The road to the house is one not for the faint of heart! Also, if you are not good with stairs, this is not the place for you. Lastly, as expected and mentioned, the cabins are a bit musty smelling, but you really do get used to it quickly. This place is perfect for couples, or people who want separate spaces with privacy! The setup is lovely and the deck is amazing night or day. We enjoyed many hours on the deck and hope to be back soon!

Kyle September 2021
We had another wonderful long weekend in the woods at Springhill (we stayed here back in May too). The cabins are super comfortable, the hot tub under the redwoods is amazing, the Wi-Fi is excellent, the kitchen and upper cabin are a joy to spend time in, and the surrounding woods are beautiful and peaceful and smell great. We will be back again!

Lisa September 2021
We had such a wonderful time this weekend at your cabin! Loved the deck under the redwoods, it was exactly the getaway spot we needed. The cabins are super adorable with all of the special artistic touches, great kitchen and really comfy and cozy beds. It was so nice being so close to the river and coast too. Thank you for renting to us, we really loved it!

Peace and solitude..90 minutes from Bay Area. Been doing this since Air BnB started. This was one of cleanest and most inviting i’ve stayed in. I don’t equip my own house as nicely. Communications and suggestions great. Korbel Winery, 15 minutes away, great lunches. Wine tasting might need reservation on weekend

Rosa August 2021
Really great and comfortable spot.

Jennifer July 2021
Very quick to help when we couldn't get into bottom cabin.

Jon June 2021
The property has two cottages, connected by the deck. It worked out great, but was a surprise to us. This is a great location for tons of activities, and the neighborhood stayed nice and cool for us, even in the heat of summer. So relaxing!

Ryan June 2021
This place was perfect. It's tucked away in what seems to be a tight summer home community. We found it a perfect home base for exploring the coast as well as wine country. Loved it.

Emily June 2021
The single lane road to get to the cabins is a little scary, especially at night, but the directions to find Springhill were really good. Both cabins are super cute, and it was perfect shared space for two couples with the deck and hot tube in between. We saw many birds and even a few deer from the window seat, and loved the decorations, wind chimes, and even board games and a Switch! Perfect getaway close to the city.

Ari May 2021
We had a wonderful time staying here! Great proximity to town and vineyards, and a great rustic spot to just veg out all day. It’s nestled deep in the woods of Forrestville and so special to be surrounded by the big trees and nature. Highly recommend.

Kyle May 2021
We had an amazing long weekend at the Springhill cabin. Wow! The woods are beautiful, quiet, and really peaceful. Both cottages had exactly what we needed and we had a lot of fun preparing meals, sitting outside on the patio, soaking in the hot tub, and wandering among all the beautiful nature. The patio in the evening is particularly magical with the string lights, redwoods, and the sounds of wind chimes. We're planning on going back again!

Badrinath May 2021
A perfect gem of a location. Perfect for two small families. Majestic redwoods, chirping birds, hammock, hot tub and the cosiest little houses filled with comfy furniture and warm blankets. Tons of skylights through which you can see the sky throughout the day. Beautiful kitchen that’s exceptionally well equipped if you do intend to cook. All in all, a perfect place for a holiday.

Vanessa May 2021
This place is magical! From the amazingly cute cottages, the deck, and scenery, it made us never want to leave!

Luke May 2021
This place is amazing!! Secluded but still close to Sebastopol that has lots of great dining. We loved spending time at The Barlow. The hot tub was a nice touch that we enjoyed quite a bit. Will definitely be booking a stay here again!

Laura April 2021
Our stay was everything we hoped for and more!

Maria April 2021
quiet, peaceful area. the air is really nice here. especially loved the hot tub and patio area, would be great for small groups getting together

Ellen April 2021
Springhill is magical! We spent the majority of our time on the deck under the redwoods enjoying the fire, hot tub and eating at the banquet table. The kitchen is surprisingly well stocked with a diversity of kitchen tools/equipment and very functional for its size, it was really fun to cook in the main cabin. There is not a full grocery nearby, so be sure to come with provisions planned, which will give you more time to enjoy the cabin. It is just 25 min or so to the coast and with Armstrong still closed we explored Shell Beach instead.

Peter March 2021
One of the best stays I had. Russian Rivers getaways was a dream. The amenities were plentiful; the location second to none. Perfect for a couples getaway in the redwoods

Alyssa March 2021
The most beautiful outdoor space - the hot tub in the trees is magical

Caitlin March 2021
We loved our little getaway! So nice to have the Jacuzzi and fire pit in the March, the deck was so nice to hang out on even though it was chilly. Definitely want to come back in the summer and enjoy the on-season at the Russian River :)

Alex February 2021
This place is wonderful! It’s a bit off the road and in an enclave of other homes so it feels like a neighborhood but one you don’t expect to interact much with others on. If you are looking for a place to walk to hiking, this is probably not the spot but if you have a car and are good with driving 20-40 minutes then this is a great find! The lower cottage is included and would be a wonderful place to have another couple or pair of friends to stay and still have privacy. The lower cottage has all the same amenities as the upper cottage except a full kitchen (it has a microwave and mini fridge though!) The upper cottage runs much cooler but the decor is cute and the windows really help frame the home and give the vibe that you are among nature and the trees :) We loved the hot tub and thought the lights outside (they’re timed to come on at sunset) were a beautiful touch! While we didn’t use it, the fire pit was awesome and we wish we had! The kitchen was well stocked with plates, pans, and oil/salt and pepper, the fridge was immaculate! Added plus: a Nintendo switch and all primary streaming services too.

Jessica February 2021
We had such a wonderful time during our stay here. It’s was so perfect for a quick getaway. My niece definitely loved the fact that after completing her distance learning work she was able to relax in that hot tub! Would highly recommend and hope to be back. The drive up is 1000% worth it!

Arthur February 2021
Wonderful weekend getaway! Will definitely be back to visit in the summer.

Gabriella December 2020
Our group absolutely loved this air bnb! The two separate houses is perfect for two groups and the grounds is absolutely stunning. You are surrounded by redwoods and the setting is just magical. The space is clean and homey and our group sank in quickly. We hope to revisit one day in the future. Recommend to anyone. A little heads up: the drive is a bit intense for anyone that is not used to driving sonoma county windy back roads so be prepared for that and there are quite a few steps for loading and unloading to get to the top house. We got our steps in thats for sure!

Jessica December 2020
The Russian River house was perfect for what we were looking for! We used the hot tub a few nights and loved the quaint cottages. I would highly recommend booking the property. It is a little ways from Napa, but Sonoma is much closer for tastings.

Di November 2020
Such a beautiful spot in the trees, cozy, spacious, thoughtfully assembled. We loved it - the deck is amazing and the whole situation is perfect for these weird COVID times - separate buildings but lots of common space.

Sarah September 2020
Amazing space tucked away in the redwoods! Such nice amenities and attention to detail. Can't wait to return!

Katie September 2020
Spring Hill is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The 2 cabin aspect makes it perfect for 2 parties. The cabin is supplied with all the essentials, you have the tools/supplies to cook ANYTHING. The deck is by far the best feature! We will definitely be back!

DiLecia August 2020
Such a cute place! My now fiancé planned the perfect surprise proposal and everything was so beautiful! The only thing (as some others have mentioned) is that getting to the cabins is a bit hard. The road is extremely narrow and you often have to pull off to the side or reverse in order to let others pass. Beyond that I loved this spot and would definitely book again!

Megan July 2020
Great place! No beach access, so plan on making reservations elsewhere. The place was old and a little musty as others say, but the charm and amenities more than make up for it. Loved this place

Daniel & Jeremy July 2020
This location and property is beautiful. I wanted a tree house experience. This is like you put both together. It a place that you do not want to leave. The way you put everything together with the old and new is very well done. There are so many amazing things about this property. But here are a few of my favorite. (Number one)The hot tub THE HOT TUB! Is an amazing addition to this property! To be able to sit in there after a long day of playing surrounded by 10 huge redwoods and look up and see that view is heaven! The reading nook! It’s like you are another world. The view is amazing looking out into the forest as you climb up on the massive nook (that can fit two comfortably). (It’s like you are floating on a cloud like cushion) as you lean back staring out the window that swings out and this big gust of pine and the sounds of the wind chime (sounds like Tibetan bowls chiming) it brings you such peace. Ugh!!!!! So good! (Number 3) The outdoor space: It again is very peaceful. I great place to entertain. The table is big enough for 8. As you look at the fire pit and The huge trees. Like I said, this place has lots to offer and it was perfect. (Number 4) The kitchen! Big kitchen, old meets new touches. The stove is a classic great place to cook a meal. Like I said, this place has lots to offer and it was the perfect place to to get from the city and celebrate life and nature and have some much needed self care. It much more than just a property.... it’s an experience!

Peter July 2020
Spring Hill! What a beautiful and idyllic property! Two cabins nestled along a hillside tucked under a canopy of Redwood trees. Tranquil mornings, quiet evenings, fresh air and a fully stocked house (i.e., a kitchen with every imaginable tool and utensil, and technology in every corner of the house...Okay (Hidden by Airbnb) !) sets the stage for a relaxing week away with all the comforts of home but the sense and peace of mind of being as far away from home as possible! We stayed at the property for nearly a week in early July. Spring Hill is part of a private summer beach community neighborhood along the Russian River. While the property itself doesn’t have a membership to the beach community - you can still use some of the community’s amenities like the club house (they sell serve drinks and snacks) and beach access before noon or after 4pm. There are other public beaches within a short drive. The community itself is very tight knit and family oriented. Don’t be alarmed when neighbors say hello to you on your morning walks. They are all just very friendly up there. A refreshing change of pace, especially if you live in the city. (Don’t forget your mask)! We used every bit of the house over the course of our week. Cooked in the kitchen every night and/or used the gas grill. There’s a nice outdoor dining table and a lovely breakfast nook right by the kitchen to sit alongside the window, drink your coffee and stare out into the forest to see some of the local birds or even some deer! The house is fully stocked with technology to connect your phones and play your music. Nice tv as well to veg out on a movie in the evening. The deck is lovely. Laid out in the hammock in the early afternoon to catch the sun, read a book, and fall asleep to wake up in the shade. The hot tub is perfect. Echoing other commenters here - spending time on the deck - it gives you the feeling like living in an Ewok village in the Star Wars movies...! The house was very clean. The property management was smart to have print outs of its advice on COVID and had hand sanitizer waiting for us on the dinning room table outside the kitchen. This made us feel completely comfortable and safe the moment we walked inside. Property management is also very responsive and communicated things clearly. They also was messaged us during the week to ask if we were enjoying our stay and if we needed anything. Very welcoming! We also came with our dog. He loved the property and community! As it was just the three of us, we will definitely return to this spot with either friends or family! Thank you, Spring Hill!

Response from Russian River Getaways July 2020
We completely appreciate your review and feedback, Peter, and are glad you enjoyed your stay. To our knowledge, only homeowners are allowed to use the Summerhome beach, regardless of fees paid, so we'll look into whether this has changed. It is fortunate that there are so many great public beaches nearby. We hope you will be back soon! -Rachel

Sally July 2020
Beautifully decorated cabin(s) in the redwoods!

Emy June 2020
It's insanely beautiful and very spacious. The property is elevated so you feel like you're in the trees, completely removed from the ground below. There are trees circling around the hot tub and it's an amazing view when you look up. The host also has every amenity you could ask for -- fully stocked kitchen, bug spray, beach towels, etc. Only downside was communicating about maintenance on the oven, which never got fixed and the host never followed up on.

Response from Russian River Getaways June 2020
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Springhill. We did leave you a voicemail about the use of the oven, after checking it out and finding it functioning normally, but we apologize for not messaging you as well. That oven is a beautiful antique, but its operation is not what most folks are used to, which is why we do note the oven type in the listing description. In any case, thank you for the review and feedback! -Rachel

Bianca October 2019
What a special area. You will need to take the drive into and out of the cabin with caution - some seriously blind curves - but most drivers on the road are aware to take caution as well. The lower cabin is right off the main road with only a couple of stairs to reach it - very accessible. You enter the lower cabin and have a small living room, bathroom, and kitchenette on its main floor - and some steep interior stairs up to the second level has a big room that contains a Murphy bed, couch - and the laundry room in the adjoining room. You can access the hot tub out the laundry room door by climbing a steep set of stairs. Across the deck on the other side of the hot tub is the main cabin’s upper level. the upper cabin is set up in the majestic redwoods with a much steeper set of stairs to reach it off the main road. The upper cabin is the main cabin though - and the first floor of the cabin has a reverse layout to the lower and smaller cabin - meaning you reach the bedroom on the main floor first and can access the first floor bedroom and bathroom by a door or you can climb more stairs to get to the second and main living level of the upper and main cabin (which holds the main kitchen, dining and living space). The cabins themselves are very different vibes and two very separate spaces - making it great for couples who want to travel together but not share the same space. Cons - the main cabin had a very strong smell of a gas stove - both were a bit musty at first but there are plenty of purifiers and absorbers and you get used to the smell... We did meet spiders that were rather large - and near the head of the bed - so just remind yourself that you are in the woods and you won’t be too spooked by them! The main cabin had the bedroom and bathroom on the same level but on they were on the ground floor - so a bit more musty and cold - whereas the lower level cabin had the bathroom on the ground level and bedroom on the second floor - meaning you would have to climb down the steep interior stairs to reach the bathroom- but the sleeping space being on the second level meant the musty smell wasn’t as noticeable and it was much warmer at night. Regardless - We enjoyed a very private and special setting all around - I would highly recommend this amazing experience!

Devon October 2019
Gorgeous space amongst the trees with stylish touches and details throughout. Enjoy the hot tub while tree bathing under a canopy of redwoods.

Nicole September 2019
What a beautiful property nestled in the forest located very close to the Russian river and many lovely wineries. The property is actually 2 separate cabins which was perfect for us 2 couples. The hot tub was hot upon arrival . The space has everything you need to be comfortable and the kitchen is not sparse....plenty of glasses/cookware etc. This place is so charming with antique flair like the old-fashioned stove and claw foot bathtub. Description mentioned bringing towels for the spa which was needed for the hot tub. Thank you for having us.

Penny September 2019
This is a really neat old house in a very peaceful and quiet setting. It’s built into the hillside among the redwood trees. It has a main house with living area, fireplace, full kitchen and a downstairs bedroom with claw foot tub bathroom. The second home is a one bedroom cottage, bath with stall shower, kitchenette and fireplace. Large outdoor deck with fire pit, gas grill and hot tub joining the buildings. The house is among giant redwoods. The deck is flanked with them and natural ferns and flora. The kitchen has a wonderful old gas stove and is fully stocked with appliances, cookware, bakeware and serve ware. Plenty of textiles. Baskets of blankets for cozying up on the deck. Dining table easily seats six to eight. Washer and dryer. Plenty of cleaning supplies, soaps, shampoos and a pretty well stocked pantry. Outdoor furniture, string lights and candles make for lovely evenings. There are benches and a hammock. Both buildings have easy keyless entry. Both beds are more like full size, but comfortable and with good linens. Many technology related items- (Hidden by Airbnb) , Netflix, Nintendo, etc. Tons of books on food, art, history, etc. plenty of flashlights and batteries in case of outage. The drawbacks (and they may not be for some people) are the drive in, stairs and moisture related issues. These are the Russian River redwoods and it’s thick, winding in most places and stays pretty moist. The drive in is a narrow winding road with some parts having no guard rail. Most of it is one lane and caution is required. There are quite a few stairs getting up to the house. There are moisture issues which cannot be avoided for an old home in this environment, but the owners have dehumidifiers and air purifiers in the main home and both bedrooms to help mitigate that. I do not think it’s environment for really small children who need constant supervision as there is a side of the deck that drops off a bit, stairs and of course there is poison oak. I am a native Californian and know the area. We enjoyed our stay very much. Peaceful and beautiful. Cooked great meals, enjoyed coffee and drinks out on the deck, soaked in the hot tub, and had a great time at the river and in the nearby towns.

Travis September 2019
Clean, unique, all around great!

Gala September 2019
Amazing place: stylish, beautiful, clean, interesting floor plan, patio calling to stay forever.

Landon September 2019
The cabins are a great little getaway from the city.

Megan August 2019
The tranquility of this cabin is spectacular! We have visited many times and will continue to return. The outdoor space has it all!

Denise August 2019
What a fabulous getaway. Perfect cabins and perfect location.

Ginger July 2019
This place is magic! Perfect for 2 couples. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back.

Carla July 2019
We had a great week at Springhill! The cabins are cute and comfortable, the deck is a fun outdoor space and the process and communication was easy.

Karen June 2019
My stay at River Getaway were mixed. My favorite thing about the place was the fabulous deck. Sitting in the hot tub under the redwood trees was fantastic and beautiful. The house was also well appointed technologically, with (Hidden by Airbnb) everything. And the kitchen was very well stocked with everything you'd need, so all positives. The challenges: I wasn't quite clear on the fact that there are two cabins, a lower and upper, so even though the description said so, it didn't register with me until we got there. The lower cabin is very dark and has a very, very strong mildew smell so we ended up not using it at all. The upper cabin was better, but the bedroom downstairs had the same strong smell. It was a bit off-putting. Also, the road to get out to the cabin is nerve wracking. It's 1.5 miles on a very narrow, single lane (mostly) road with drop-offs to the river on one side. I grew up driving mountain roads, so am not a wimp, but it was challenging. The first time I drove it, we met a truck on a hill and had to figure out how to back down to a safe place so the car could pass. Each time we left and came back we crossed our fingers for no cars, but inevitably met 1-4 cars and had to navigate the road. And a night it's even more challenging. One more disappointment was not being able to use the very close-by beach. I don't understand why we aren't considered "residents" or "guests" of the area if we are staying there (only people who live there or their guests can use it). It is quiet and peaceful once you get out to the house though.

The cabin was beautiful and the deck and outdoors area were truly amazing. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were lots of amenities. We didn't realize that there are two separate cabins, which could be useful if you have multiple parties going with you and you want a little privacy but we didn't end up using the space with the two of us. It is hot during the summer time and there is no AC so be prepared for that. We opened the windows but a lot of mosquitoes came in and ate my husband alive. The sleeping area is a little cooler since it's down below so that's a plus. The bed is small but comfy. Overall a great experience but i would come back when it's a bit cooler out. P.S. there is a little private beach for the residents but the guest don't have access to it which is a shame... hopefully that changes since all the other beaches are not really beaches and are super crowded.

Thanks for the review & feedback, Feryal. We would definitely prefer for guests to have access to the neighborhood association beach, but they don't allow it. There are many beaches in our area, and we would be happy to share information about how to have a less crowded beach experience if you come up our way again. -Rachel

We are already planning to come and stay again at this exact house. What an amazing time!

This is a magical setting. The two cabins are nestled into the hillside among towering redwoods. You feel like you're living in the Ewok village! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the deck was perfect for relaxing with a number of different seating areas and an awesome hot tub surrounded by a circle of redwoods. There are so many wineries around the area, we found the location to be very central to exploring the Russian River valley.

Absolutely amazing. Words can’t even begin to describe how BLOWN AWAY we were upon arrival— down to the last detail, they absolutely nailed it. On top of that, there are some fantastic local attractions from the Redwood Reserve to wine tasting around the countryside. I can’t wait for another chance to experience this beautiful sanctuary.

A truly relaxing experience for those looking to escape the city and enjoy nature without sacrificing modern amenities. You bring the wine and Springhill supplies everything else. Hands down our best Airbnb experience to date.

Very pleasant and quaint

A great getaway amongst the redwoods. Close enough to town and nearby wineries but far enough to get the cabin in the woods feel. The cottages are beautiful, clean, and have everything you'd need. Check in is a breeze with the keyless entry and Justin and Maile were very responsive to messages. Overall, a great stay and would highly recommend for anyone looking in the area.

Just exactly what we’d been hoping for for our forest retreat. Hidden up on the side of a crazy road, tucked in among the trees. I’m not sure when they were built, but the cabins are clearly quite old, which is perfect if you’re looking for a slightly rustic cabin feel. They’re nicely renovated, well-decorated, and appointed with everything needed for a comfortable visit. The grounds are the best part. Outside of the upper cabin is a secluded deck with comfy chairs surrounded by redwoods. Mornings were spent drinking coffee and smelling the tree smell in that little piece of private forest. Lovely. The one drawback is the view from the living room windows. They look out across the road and the view is of the neighbor’s house and power lines. At first we were disappointed, but the rest of the experience was so nice that it quickly faded out of our attention. All in all a lovely place to visit! Someone puts a lot of love into this little hideaway, and it shows.

Awesome place!!! One of the best airbnb places I have been to! We were a group of family and friends. Some airbnb places looks great, very stylish but actually not that convenient and comfortable, however this place is just amazing that i feel like they are hosting us seamlessly without being there with us! We had great time there, thank you so much :) !!!

Wow. Springhill was wonderful. It had practically every amenity you could ever want (and more you didn’t even think you needed!), was tastefully decorated, had a beautiful outdoor/deck area (with a hot tub), dog friendly — it was perfect. The window seat was a really fun feature and a great place to slowly sip your morning tea or cozy-up for an afternoon nap. We can’t wait to come back!

OMG we have fallen in love with Springhill Cabin! What a beautiful, well-equipped, and comfortable home for a quick get away from our regular lives in Oakland, CA. We chanced upon this space last minute when our original rental fell through and we are so grateful for this fortuitous change in circumstances. We were charmed by the many beautiful yet practical details in this space: bowls for every dish imaginable, comfy blankets for the evening, interesting vintage pieces, and a champagne cork opener! So many times you rent a space in part because you want to cook in the kitchen and you don't have the basics for that to be a functional experience. This place is not that. It's been everything we wanted and more, and the two cabins allowed for some nice quiet time within our party of two families. We'll be back! Finally, the folks at Russian River Getaways were communicative, helpful, and otherwise accommodating each time we briefly were in touch. Many thanks!
