"Great place to stay!!"

5 of 5

This home was perfect for our needs. I usually do not like to cook but had no problem here. The downstairs part was perfect for our third guest/ and 2 dogs. We could walk to the small town of Jenner and were not far from the beach and river.

"Home Away From Home"

4 of 5

Our stay at Artist's View was so interesting. Between the cottage itself, and the beautiful gardens, we discovered some new little touch every day. It appears much thought and care has gone into making this a truly unique experience.

"Perfect home away from home"

5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at Artist View with another couple to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. The house went beyond our expectations in accommodations, beauty and warmth. The kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed cooking on the Italian gas oven/stove. The decor, furniture and instruments to play added something special to every day. We welcomed our mornings admiring the beautiful landscape and watching the various wild life (deer, golden eagle and quail). The cool temperatures in the evening were easy to deal with knowing we could warm up in front of a cozy fire in the beautiful wood stove or melt away in the outdoor hot tub. We would love to find ourselves back at Artist View in the future!

"Quiet cottage in the hills"

5 of 5

This place is a classy little getaway with exquisite interior decor and a stunning view. We loved the quality kitchen that was great for cooking. Five minute walk to the shore and breakfast/lunch. The hot tub was great/private/relaxing. Wifi was spotty but we went there to get away! And we saw deer and wild turkey!

Manager Response:

Thank you for the review, Jennifer. We're so glad you enjoyed a peaceful getaway at Artist's View! We hope to welcome you back to Sonoma County again!

"Remarkable, magical and charming!"

4 of 5

I adored this place, decorated with love and artistry, it was thoughtfully laid out and it would have been fun to come with other friends as there is a separate unit. It's super close to Russian River and dog-friendly Goat Head's Beach, so we ended up doing less exploring and more visiting our known favorites. Neighbors were friendly when we saw them - rarely- and the backyard was full of hummingbirds, butterflies, and visiting bunnies. Well taken care of grass to lounge on with a bottle of wine and a good book - what could be better? The bathrooms and kitchen were spotless and the view from the tub was so ridiculously good that I burst out laughing when I saw it. The only real bummer was the lack of working WIFI. I love not being able to receive calls but for the price of the cottage, I expect WIFI to be up and running smoothly - unless I've chosen a spot that's off the grid and makes no claims to having WIFI. Hoping this will be tended to so we can return for our monthly "work from a cottage" escapes.

Manager Response:

Thank you for your feedback! We're so glad you adored Artist's View, it's such a lovely house with, as you mentioned, a ridiculous view from that sweet bath tub spot. We're sorry you had trouble with the WIFI. This area does experience slow internet connections at times due to it being satellite service. We investigated the specific issues you were experiencing and were able to resolve them. We do hope to welcome you back in the future and thank you again for the feedback!

"Charming Place to Stay and Relax"

5 of 5

We have stayed at this property twice. We love it. It is quaint and charming with somewhat eclectic art and decorations. Although our kids are always ready for the next thing (kayaking, the beach, hiking etc) I could sit for hours on the deck or in the garden with a cup of tea or wine and a great book and never leave! The kitchen is a bit older, but has a dishwasher nice fridge and wonderful range. Kitchen could use a few more good quality utensils and brighter lighting, but it's very serviceable and still a delight to cook in. The property has two levels and in our dream world, there would be stairs down to the garden from the upper level. Instead you have to leave the house and go down the outdoor stairs to the lower level. Tough with the dog but not a big deal - just means leashing and taking them to the back garden area. The owners of this property do a wonderful job of making it a delight to stay in. We enjoy it so much and will definitely return again. We love the sleepy beauty of Jenner - a great place to stay.

"Great Place."

5 of 5

When I lived in Sonoma County 30 years ago, Jenner was always my favorite place to go and be. I stayed there for a couple weeks and later worked there for 6 months or so. Glad to say it hasn't changed much, if at all. The home itself is beautiful, the gardens and yard well kept, designed and groomed. Great kitchen. On the whole better than the photos. My wife and dog loved it as much as I did (the dog probably more). Both the agency and the owner herself were there when we needed them once or twice. We'll be back

"We Love It!"

5 of 5

We love this property, and will keep coming back. We have celebrated NYE, our Wedding Anniversary, and Thanksgiving here. We have stayed here over a handful of times, and it keeps getting better. Next time we will be sure to stay here for at least a week. Many thanks, and cheers!!!

"A very comfortable stay"

4 of 5

We spent a week here at the end of August, we rented both suites and used the home as a base for exploring the Sonoma coast and the wine valleys. The home is lovely, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped.....so well equipped that we couldn't find a lot of room to store our dry goods, cereals bread, pasta etc! The appliances were all high end and worked well. Both suites were perfect and the beds very comfy. The great room could have done with another comfy chair as only 3 were relaxing, the others were a bit upright and formal and it would have been a problem had we all wanted to sit round and watch TV......but we didn't, some better light to read by in the evening would also have been appreciated. The outside space is lovely, especially the deck off the great room and the beautiful well kept garden, the views are fabulous! So to balance things, what were the downsides for us?The one big disappointment for us was the main bathroom, we had really looked forward to using the big soaking tub but with absolutely no coverings at the windows we felt too exposed. I appreciate that this was to enable you to enjoy the surroundings and that the house is not immediately overlooked at the rear but the house on the hill opposite was occupied and we could see people moving around so surely they could see us, especially at night with the lights on. It was also impossible to use the toilet when the rest of the party were on the deck as you were on full view!! Sadly then this room was only used for quick trips to the toilet when everyone else was in the great room. Our fellow guests also reported no window coverings in their downstairs en suite which made them feel a bit exposed. Maybe it's just a British modesty thing! If you are traveling on US 1 it is 30 mile round trip to pick up the keys from the office, a lock box would be better although we did manage to make arrangements to leave the keys at the property when leaving which we appreciated.Couldn't contact the office dialing the number as printed in the information folder, you don't need the first three numbers which we didn't realize, possibly US guests would know this but we didn't.None of these things spoiled our vacation, we had a great time and would recommend.

"3 GREAT Days"

5 of 5

Wine country vacation included a trip to the coast and it was great. Had a sunset at River's End, breakfast at Cafe Aquatica, a drive up the coast, Bodega Bay,drank wine on the deck while grilling out, and tasted wine in the valley. The House was perfect for two couples. Looks small at first but lots of space. Great kitchen and dining room. Watched hummingbirds and butterflies in the garden, enjoyed the hot tub in the evening and just sitting on the deck. Jenner is a very cool location. Laid-back and quiet. Very happy we found it and would do it again.

"My favorite place ever"

5 of 5

I grew up hearing about the Russian River from my San Francisco-born grandmother. Finally, years later, I was able to see for myself how wonderful the area is. The Artist View was a perfect place for this artist to stay in any location, but extra special being in Jenner. The cabin was squeaky clean and smelled good. (I'm freakish about bad smells) The ambience was excellent. I loved sketching on the window seats (more like beds) as I enjoyed the awesome views. The deer right outside our kitchen window was a delight to witness. My only suggestion would be a larger sofa and a bit larger television. I would love to live in this thoughtfully, and in good taste, designed home.

"A wonderful getaway"

4 of 5

The artist's View is a wonderful little home in the hills above Jenner. It is a beautiful little house in a very peaceful and relaxing setting overlooking a little valley. You can hear the stream in below and enjoy the beautiful view and sun on the deck. Even though it rained two of the days we were there, the baby grand piano, guitar and cozy furniture by the fireplace in the great room made for a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a secluded getaway.

Manager Response:

Thanks for the review! Artist's View is a special place, and we're so glad you enjoyed yourselves. Please do come back soon. -Rachel, Russian River Getaways

"Love this home!"

4 of 5

This is the second time we've stayed at this home. It is so cute and the size unassuming from the front view. It is quite large and spacious. The house is full of lovely furniture, artwork and amenities...making it feel as if it was your own home (cozy and comfortable). The house is well equipped: dishes, glassware, cast iron pan, utensils, you name it. The Bosch dishwasher is quiet as not to disturb the guests staying in the living room area. The deck and the views are impeccable. The gardens below are a special area for peace and enjoyment. The hot tub, located off of the master bedroom, is high-end and easily accessible. It is evident the owner(s) of this home care about their guests. The only negative part we had was the WiFi. It is spotty (the satellite dish needs re-arranging) and cell service was unavailable until we got into town. However, our stay has special meaning and memories. We are plan to make this an annual trip for us to continue our tradition.

Manager Response:

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Artist's View. It is a wonderful home, and the location cannot be beat. We'll check into the satellite issue and make sure it's fixed, if it can be (satellite can be problematic by nature). Unfortunately, we cannot fix the cell coverage in this area, but we do keep trying! We welcome you back next year and every year after! -Rachel, Russian River Getaways

"Magical, relaxing home."

5 of 5

My group of four + Maddie the dog had a wonderful stay at artist's View & Painter's Dream. We had two artists (pianist and guitar, the both of them), and they were in heaven. The home has everything, and then some. Super kitchen, super decks, amazing garden. All of us left knowing that three nights was too short a stay, and we will definitely be back.

Manager Response:

Ah yes, Artist's View is very special, and we're so glad you enjoyed it. Please do come back soon. We have a winter 3-for-2 discount Jan-Mar. Thanks for the review. -Rachel

"Great Wine Country Retreat!"

5 of 5

We just returned after a week at the Artist's View/Painter's Dream cottage and, if possible, would give it 6 stars. Why? First, it is a wonderful house which is comfortable, cozy and incredibly well furnished. The longer we were there, the more differentiating nuances we noticed...an interesting assortment of art, a fully equipped kitchen with high far exceeding the vacation rental norm, high end appliances and much more.Second, it is a quiet, peaceful location with a beautiful garden and impressive views.Third, it is ideal for two couples with the private downstairs suite. Finally, the owner, Anne, was very responsive and amazingly helpful providing many "spot on" recommendations. This was particularly important as I was arranging a surprise getaway for my wife's birthday. If you stay here you won't be disappointed!

"Not what we expected"

3 of 5

While the cottage was quirky and ecclectic (which is a good thing from my perspective), it didn't work for my boyfriend and I who are in our early 50's. We were looking for a charming, cozy, romantic getaway with a good view of the water. If you play the piano, the piano in the middle of the living area might be a plus but we don't so the effect was lost on us. The seating in the living area around the wood burning stove was not particularly inviting. The twin sized day beds in the living area by the window were an interesting idea but not a place that two can snuggle together and look out at a great view. The gardens were lovely but I was hoping to see more of the river and knowing the Pacific was just out of view, just made me want to be there and there were several places right on the Pacific that I'd like to try next time. Jenner was quite small and we enjoyed the coffee house on the river for breakfast. Great food. The nightly rate after all fees were included came to $315/night and that was too much in our opinion. We used artist's View as a home base and ventured out each day for siteseeing and wine tasting and shopping and fine dining. We appreciated the management putting a lockbox on the door so we didn't have to drive into Guerneville to pick up keys.

Manager Response:

Artist's View is a charming and quaint home with great touches throughout. The location adds to the peacefulness you find while there. Our pictures are pretty clear as to how the house looks inside and out and our booking agents do try to place you in the right home for your needs. Sorry it wasn't quite to your liking but next time we can place you in a cabin that suits you better.

"Beautiful cottage ingreat location!"

5 of 5

The home is well stocked, and perfect for 2 couples. We visited with our grown daughter and her fianc, and it couldn't have been a nicer place to visit the Jenner area. It is a Very Small Town. We found everyone to be friendly and helpful. The River's End has a magnificent view and good food. The aquatica coffee shop is great for baked goods and coffee. The convenience store has all you need for a weekend visit. But, the home is wonderful, and the best of it all. The garden is beautiful! We really enjoyed our visit.

Manager Response:

Artist's View is a spectacular little piece of bliss and Jenner is a secret no one seems to know about. Once there you escape to your own little world. Everything is right there and you can even rent kayaks and paddle to the mouth of the Russian River. We're so happy you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you back soon!

"Very welcoming warm home tucked into the seaside hills"

Fantastically decorated and well appointed home. Decks look out over a beautiful valley and garden. Piano and hot tub were great and the floor plan was very open and inviting.

"Magic!"

5 of 5

What a beautiful and magical house in a friendly and magical town! I loved my stay at artist's View in Jenner. The house is beautifully furnished with everything needed for cooking, relaxing, hanging-out, and romance! The piano and music stand were lovely additions, and I brought my flute and played opera arias out into the valley. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking - we even invited some interesting and engaging locals that we met at the local coffee shop for an impromptu lunch out on the deck. The soaking tub is great - deep, great view, beautiful surroundings. The gardens are a feast of color and fragrance and attracted all kinds of hummingbirds and butterflies. The house is within walking distance of the town store, coffee shop, restaurants, and the river visitor center. It is also a 5 minute drive from a beautiful beach that is perfect for haning out or walking. All in all, my trip to artist's View was an incredible and relaxing impromptu trip. If I didn't live so far away, I would go back to artist's View frequently for a perfect get-away. As it is, I know that I will get back there some time in the future, hopefully for a longer stay.

Manager Response:

Please do come back and enjoy another stay at the wonderful home. -Rachel, general manager

"Peaceful, very pretty, french farmhouse inspired cottage"

4 of 5

Lovely cottage, perfect for musical guests. Very 'cute'. Enjoyed the piano and the wood burning stove in the evenings, along with the nice bottle of complimentary Cahill wine. The house is well equipped. New appliances, well stocked kitchen. Only rented the upstairs. The bedroom suite is spacious with a modern en-suite shower room. Only criticisms were, there is an extremely soft mattress topper on the bed - it was effort to even turn over and needless to say we both woke up with a sore back after our first night. We took this off for the second night and the mattress was very comfortable underneath. So if you're preference is a more supportive mattress then I recommend you do this too. Other criticism is that we had to go via Guerneville to pick up the keys which added an extra 40 minutes to our already tedious journey. I am used to lock boxes at houses we've rented in the past. Hot tub wasn't great at keeping it's temperature once the lid off but we enjoyed using it. At $700 + for 2 nights which includes the cleaning fee, it's expensive, but I still felt really good value and worth it. Much nicer than wine country inns which often cost more than that. Lots of privacy, space and peace. We hope to go back with family later on in the year and rent out the bottom bedroom suite as well.

Manager Response:

We are glad you enjoyed Artist's View and hope you will come back soon. Bed comfort is so individual, so it's great that the topper is removable so that when a person wants a firmer mattress, they can just remove it. We'll certainly consider keyless entry or a lock box for this home to make it more accessible to guests in the future. Hot tubs lose heat the longer the cover is off; this is normal. Next time, if there's an issue with the hot tub, please call so we can fix the problem. -General Manager

"Quite, beautiful view, great location, fun place to stay and wel"

5 of 5

We really enjoyed the home. The whole experience was better than I expected. Great to wake up with a cup of coffee and a great view off the porch. Very nice inside and out. Will try to stay there again in the fall.

Manager Response:

How lovely that you were able to have this unexpected experience, although this is an amazing home, so I'm not surprised! -General Manager

"Luxurious and thoughtful"

5 of 5

The artist's view was bigger than expected - the master bedroom is in a separate area with its own sitting room, in addition to the main living room with the loft daybeds. The entire house was thoughtfully laid out with luxurious amentities - it felt like a real home! A pleasant surprise was the level entry from the street side, which meant that my brother-in-law, who uses a wheelchair, could visit for dinner one night with relative ease! We'll definitely be back!

Manager Response:

This is a wonderful home, and we're so glad it worked out so well for your particular needs. Come back soon! -rkl

"Sophisticated Charm"

5 of 5

It's all in the details. The obvious touches to make the home more user-friendly were matched by the understated quality/ style of the furnishings/ fixtures. It feels like the owner has invited you into their actual home, rather than a basic house rental.

Manager Response:

Yes, these owners have created a wonderful, homey vacation home. Please do come again. -rkl

"Great Rental"

4 of 5

Rental was perfect for us - children 6 & 7, grandmother, and mom & dad. Kitchen was very well stocked with "nice" cookware - not cheap Walmart pots & pans. View was very nice. Liked the Jenner area. Close to beach, parks, and most attractions. Would definitely consider renting this unit again. Staff was extremely helpful.

"Nice Place"

5 of 5

I stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend with a few friends and our dog. We all loved this place. It was very clean, the space was just right and it had some nice views. It was close to the ocean and not too far from Guerneville, about a 20 minute drive. The attention to detail in this cottage was very impressive. We all said that we would definitely come back.

"Fantastic!!!"

5 of 5

The photos of artist's View - as good as they are- simply do not do it justice. This is truly one of the nicest, well appointed vacation homes we have ever stayed at. Wonderfully comfortable beds, excellent linens and towels, nice dinnerware, spectacular views. A peaceful getaway- walking distance to the coast and the river. We couldn't have asked for more.

"Cutest house in town"

4 of 5

Our family of five, plus one old dog, throughly enjoyed our weekend at artists View and Painters Dream. It was very unique with lots of fun things to admire. Beautiful new bathrooms and a very usable kitchen. Walking distance to town. Linens were lovely but the beds could have been more comfortable. Everything else was terrific.

Manager Response:

In response to this review, the owner has replaced the mattress in the upstairs bedroom and added 3" memory foam toppers to the day beds. They are now so comfortable they have to be described as heavenly!
